Crawfish To Die For...

This Labor Day Weekend, Ryan and I headed out of town for some fun and relaxation. We drove north about 5 hours...then hopped on a ferry for North Manitou Island.

We hiked about 2 miles through the woods....1/2 mile along the beach...up a beautiful creek bed....until Ryan found us the PERFECT camp sight....the ground was covered with fluffy soft leaves....the canopy of trees opened up for us to see the stars at night....trees perfectly aligned for us to hang our packs and wet clothes....it was perfect.

We spent the mornings savoring the amazing sunrise....

And picking wild blackberries for breakfast...

We spent the days on the beach, wading in the water, looking for cool rocks...digging our toes in the sand and splashing in the waves.

Ryan made a spear and caught us an amazing dinner...Crawfish...to die for...

...And we spent the nights laughing and relaxing...falling asleep to the sound of chipmunks scampering through the piles of leaves...and coyotes howling in the moonlight...

It was a great weekend....
